A question for Kane and Lynch fans?

I recently got Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days for the Xbox 360, and immediately realized an issue... I have yet to play the original. I'm going to buy the first one used for $10 tomorrow, but I really want to play the story line tonight so I know what's coming when I play co-op with my friend... My question, simply put, is whether or not playing the Kane and Lynch 2 Story will ruin my experience with the first game.
