Is there a way to "back-up" my Pokemon yellow?

I received Pokemon Special Pikachu Edition on my fifth birthday, defeated Elite Four on my fifteenth birthday, got my cleverly-nicknamed "PIKA" the Pikachu to level 100 on my 18th birthday. This game has seen me through all my milestones, trials and triumphs, and I want to p it onto my kids. It's what taught me to read, for heaven's sake, and as a prospective Comparative Literature major, I owe this game /everything/. I want to preserve it indefinitely. How can I do this? Can I put it on a computer file, a rom card, save it into a gameboy/memory stick? I'll do anything, irrespective of cost!
