'97 ford taurus (cont'd)?

ok so another question. i have a black '97 ford taurus and just recently (now that its started getting crazy hot) ill turn it on and the engine will shutter real bad enough to make the entire car shake and the RPM's will bob and you can feel it fight to stay on but then when i turn it off and turn the car back on its fine. what could it be????
