Should I get the H1N1 flu shot if I have asthma?

I am 16, and I'm very healthy. My parents have heard some stories of kids dying from swine flu, and they have made an appointment for all of us to get shots. I really dont want to get it because I've heard that the shot is very bad for you. I have asthma and when I get the flu, my asthma acts up really bad, but I found here http://drtenpenny.com/the_truth_about_the_flu_Shot.aspx that flu shots don't work for kids with asthma. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to get the shot.
