Is Jehovah the name God expects His people to call Him?

God's children should follow Jesus' example and call Him Father. Perhaps you were unaware of this, but yhwh (there is no J in Hebrew) means eternal or ever-living one in the old Hebrew. Adonai simply means my Lord. So, when you see in the Hebrew adonai eloheinu, it means my Lord, our God. The reason they did not use the tetragrammaton in the New Testament is because Greek differs from Hebrew. Christ referred to HImself in that way, though: He said, "Before Abraham was, I am."
